Citroen is a leading automobile manufacturing unit from France that becomes the division of Peugeot Citroen since the year 1976. This company was founded way back in the year 1919 by the founder of the company Andre Citroen. Citroen became the first ever company outside the United States that produce mass-production. Just within the first eight years, Citroen has achieved the milestone of Europe as the only biggest car manufacturing unit and world’s fourth largest car manufacturing company.
The mass-production was used during the World War I to provide vehicles for the French military. In the year 1934 Citroen manufactured first ever complete steel body car named as B10. Since the starting year of Citroen has come a long way from manufacturing the military and farming vehicles. Citroen C1 is the leading car model that is provided to the people for city use. The production for this model started back in the year 2005, and it is still going very strong. This car model comes under the segment of compact executive car that is manufactured by the leading French car manufacturer Citroen. The production of this car began back in the year 2011. It is the third car model that comes under the new premium sub-brand division of DS that operate along with other mainstream car models. This car model was revealed at the Shanghai Auto Show back in the April 2011.
The aviation technology inspires the interior of this car model with two center consoles. The front glass is extended to the top of the driver as well as front passenger head to offer the jet cockpit feeling. The car manufacturer offers this model as two variants of turbocharged petrol and two diesel engines. The engine of the car is loathed in the front with front wheel drive technology. The Citroen DS 5 model was also introduced as a concept sports model in the Frankfurt Motor Show back in the year 2005. It comprised of 1,997CC engines and six-speed automatic transmission along with 20-inch alloy wheels.

The Citroen C5 model comes within the segment of a large family car. Citroen has started the production of this car back in the year 2001 and now it has entered the second generation of the car since the year 2007. This car has replaced the other model of Citroen names as Xantia. The Citroen started the production of this car in the French and Chinese assemblies. They are still manufactured in the same assembly lines. As compared to the first generation, the second-generation car model has more variation in term of the engine as well as transmission types. In the second-generation car, it comes with the petrol variants of the 1.8 L I4, 2.0 L I4, 1.6 L I4, and 3.0 L V6 engine.
